Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about LumosCielo™ luminous ceilings — products, performance, certifications, and specification.

A luminous ceiling is an architectural lighting element that integrates LED illumination into the ceiling surface itself — recessed, surface-mounted, or suspended — creating an evenly illuminated plane that disperses light uniformly across a space. Luminous ceilings replace conventional fixtures with a continuous surface of light, reducing glare and shadow while providing both ambient and design lighting.
LumosCielo™ is the architectural luminous-ceiling brand of Baganti Inc., a Montréal-based manufacturer. The company designs and produces numerous product lines of luminous panels — LumosBespoke (custom), LumosRondo (circular), LumosLineo (linear), LumosPerfo-Metallo (perforated metal), LumosPerfo-Light (faux-perforated PVC), LumosGrafico (large-format printed fabric), LumosCielo Standard (fixed sizes), and LumosRondo Standard (fixed sizes) — all powered by the Lumosanti™ tension-free LED system.
LumosBespoke is custom-engineered to any rectangular, square, or geometric configuration the project requires, with longer lead times and full design flexibility. LumosCielo and LumosRondo Standard offer six fixed panel sizes (4'×4', 5'×5', 6'×4', 6'×6', 6'×8', 8'×4') and (3'Ø, 4'Ø, 5'Ø, 6'Ø, 7'Ø, 8'Ø) with shorter lead times — the fastest path to specification when a project does not need a bespoke geometry.
LumosCielo panels are available in six static colour temperatures (2700K warm, 3000K soft white, 3500K welcoming, 4000K neutral, 5000K cool white, and 5700K daylight), plus Tunable White ranging from 2700K to 5700K, RGBW, and Pixel Control for fully colour-controllable installations. All CCT options deliver CRI greater than 90.
All LumosCielo luminous panels deliver CRI greater than 90 across the entire CCT range. This makes them suitable for environments where accurate colour rendering is critical, including retail (where merchandise colour fidelity matters), hospitality, healthcare, museums, and showrooms.
LumosCielo LED systems are rated L70 50,000 hours, meaning the LEDs retain at least 70% of their initial light output after 50,000 hours of operation. Every system is backed by a 5-year limited warranty with the Value and Spec Lines and a 10-year limited warranty for the Premium Line.
Yes. LumosCielo offers acoustic configurations using the LumosFlex stretch membrane paired with acoustic backers and our perforated-panel lines (LumosPerfo-Metallo and LumosPerfo-Light). Acoustic performance can be specified to project NRC requirements. Contact your regional LumosCielo representative via the Agent Locator for the latest published NRC values per configuration.
LumosCielo panels can be recessed into the ceiling, surface-mounted directly below the ceiling, suspended from above, or placed within a T-Bar grid. Installation uses our frame profiles (in 76, 105, 120, or 140 mm depths) combined with the LumosFlex stretch membrane, the LumosFlect reflective backing, and the Lumosanti tension-free LED system. Full mounting details, profile drawings, and section diagrams are published in the spec sheets at lumoscielo.com/Downloads.
LumosCielo Standard panels come in six fixed sizes: 4'×4', 5'×5', 6'×4', 6'×6', 6'×8', and 8'×4', in Standard or High Output. LumosBespoke is available in any rectangular, square, triangular, or fully custom geometry. LumosRondo offers circular panels in standard and custom diameters. LumosLineo is available in linear runs up to project-specified lengths.
Yes. LumosCielo's high CRI (>90), flicker-free operation, glare-free output, and tunable white capability make the system appropriate for healthcare spaces including patient rooms, corridors, clinics, imaging suites (CT, MRI), and recovery areas. The LumosFlex membrane is Class A fire rated (UL 723, NFPA 255, ASTM E84) and easy to clean.
LumosCielo systems are UL/cULus listed, CE marked, ASTM E84 Class A fire-rated, IP60 ingress-rated, and RoHS compliant. The Mean Well HLG driver system is independently certified. LEED, HPD, and Declare documentation is available on request via info@baganti.com.
Standard LumosCielo panels carry an IP60 ingress-protection rating, suitable for dry interior locations. The Lumosanti LED backlighting system used in select configurations is rated up to IP64, making it suitable for wet, damp, or dry locations including back-of-house, food-service, and certain healthcare applications.
Yes. LumosGrafico is a large-format luminous panel printed with custom imagery on the LumosFlex stretch membrane. Print resolution and colour fidelity are suited to high-impact branded environments, themed hospitality, retail flagships, museums, and exhibits. Contact your LumosCielo representative for artwork specifications and lead times.
LumosFlex is the high-performance stretch ceiling membrane used in every LumosCielo system. It is 0.2 mm thick, weighs 200 g/m², is 100% recyclable with 40% pre-consumer recycled content, and meets UL 723, NFPA 255, ASTM E84 (Class A), Bs1 d0, and ASTM 963-11 fire and safety standards.
Lumosanti™ is the tension-free, non-backing LED lighting system designed by Baganti Inc. to pair seamlessly with every LumosCielo panel. It delivers uniform light diffusion behind the LumosFlex membrane with no visible LED hotspots, and is available in static CCT, tunable white, RGBW, and Pixel Control configurations.
LumosCielo provides a Spec Code Generator at lumoscielo.com/Generator that produces a paste-ready specification string based on shape, dimensions, CCT, profile, profile colour, mounting type, and system. Example: LCLC-SQ-36"x36"-57-DM-12-CL-SF-LU. IES photometric files, PDF spec sheets in CCT, WW, RGBW, and Pixel Control versions, and full installation details are available at lumoscielo.com/Downloads.
A traditional drop ceiling provides only acoustical separation and a surface for conventional fixtures, whereas a LumosCielo luminous ceiling becomes the lighting itself — a continuous, glare-free, high-CRI illuminated plane integrated into the ceiling. LumosCielo also offers acoustic configurations and printed-graphic options that a standard grid ceiling cannot provide.
LumosCielo panels are designed, engineered, and manufactured at Baganti Inc.'s facility in Mont-Royal, Quebec, Canada. The company supports a North American rep network and installations, with documentation available in English and French.
PDF spec sheets and IES photometric files are available today on the Downloads page. Revit families and additional CAD formats are in development; contact info@baganti.com or your regional LumosCielo representative to request the current status for your product line.
